Schemes that give residents the confidence to use the services of approved traders and care providers will be promoted in a supermarket campaign launching on Friday (May 3).
Over the next six weeks members of East Sussex County Council’s Trading Standards team will be visiting supermarkets across the county providing information about the Buy and Support With Confidence schemes.
Buy With Confidence promotes honest and reliable businesses. It puts consumers in touch with traders who have agreed to provide high levels of customer service – and have been vetted and approved by Trading Standards.
Support With Confidence promotes providers of care and support. The list of members includes a range of services from personal assistants and disability aid providers to financial advisers and gardeners. Any business can apply to join the scheme.
Rupert Clubb, Director of Economy, Transport and Environment, said:
“It can be difficult to know who to trust when you are looking for a trader to carry out work on your home or a care provider to offer you personal support. The council’s confidence scheme gives you peace of mind that you are handing your money over to someone who has been properly vetted.
“The supermarket campaign is the ideal opportunity for residents to pick up a list of approved traders and care providers and for those offering services to sign up to the schemes.”
