Road scheme completed ahead of schedule

Pett Road resurfacedMOTORISTS in rural East Sussex are enjoying a smoother ride after a road resurfacing scheme was completed.

East Sussex Highways completed resurfacing of Pett Road, Pett Level, in five days – three days ahead of schedule. The project also included work to relay kerbs and carry out tree cutting along the roadside.

Highways crews will be returning to the village in the summer to carry out surface dressing from Friar’s Hill to Pett Level Road.

Cllr Nick Bennett, East Sussex County Council lead member for transport and environment, said: “We’re delighted this scheme was completed ahead of schedule and to such a high standard.

“We’ve already had some very positive comments from local residents who appreciate the professional way the work was carried out and the improvement it’s made to the road surface.”
