Climate efforts boosted by solar scheme sign-up

Cllr Nick BennettThe county council’s efforts to tackle climate change have been given a boost after more than 2,500 residents signed up to a solar panel scheme.

As part of ongoing work to cut carbon emissions, East Sussex County Council teamed up with other Sussex authorities to launch Solar Together Sussex, a group buying scheme allowing residents to buy high-quality solar panels and battery storage at a competitive price. Continue reading

Public invited to have their say on cycle route

A PUBLIC consultation has been launched on plans to develop a new cycle route between an existing route and a major development in Bexhill.

Members of the public have until Thursday, December 16, to give their views on preliminary designs for the route which runs between the seafront via Collington station and the Bexhill Enterprise Park in north Bexhill. Continue reading

Former rough sleepers benefit from training

A SCHEME that helps those at risk of homelessness find work and training opportunities is being rolled out following a successful pilot.

Plumpton College recently welcomed a group from the Rough Sleepers Initiative for an eight-week training programme in local parks which included a mixture of activities to support wellbeing, a City and Guilds Level 1 qualification in Horticulture Studies, and work experience alongside land management company Idverde.
