What did local people say about how we measure our progress?

ESBTThe ESBT Outcomes Framework is a tool which identifies a number of health and social care outcomes for us to measure our progress against.

This will help us understand if ESBT is working effectively to improve; population health and wellbeing, local people’s experiences, sustainability and quality of care and support.

In March 2018 the Outcomes Framework was updated following feedback from local people and stakeholder groups.

The feedback supported the outcomes identified as priorities for the ESBT system; however it was felt important to simplify the wording of some outcomes and share a simplified summary, to make it more accessible to local people.

It was also fed back that whilst it’s important to review the Framework regularly, it should be kept constant so that there’s time to see what works and what doesn’t.

Data to measure progress against these outcomes is being collected and analysed. It’s too soon to see clear trends, but toward the end of 2017 there is some clear evidence of progress and sustained improvement for our system, in particular for delayed transfers of care, length of hospital stay and A&E waits.

As we progress toward our aim of becoming an Integrated Care System, we will be continuing to look at the best ways of measuring outcomes across the entire system, and refining how we do this. We will continue to test the framework with stakeholders and local people, and to produce regular reports on our progress.
