Improving health and wellbeing
Our work will help to change the existing culture of over-reliance on medical/ hospital services to one where prevention of ill health gets greater priority, and people take more responsibility for their own health. However, this cannot be done by health services alone.
Together we are working with a range of organisations, including those in the voluntary sector to support people to live healthier lives, make our schools and workplaces healthier and identify ill health earlier.
Doing this would mean a healthier population where people would have a better quality of life. They would visit emergency departments and be admitted to hospital less often. We’d be able to provide more supportive care. And we’d have healthier staff working under less pressure.
