Use your experiences to help shape social work training

Would you like to share your experience of social care services or of being a carer to help shape social work education and training?

Recovery Partners, a non-profit, service-user led and run organisation, is looking for people who are carers and people who have experience of social care services to join their Experts by Experience network. By joining the network you will help shape social work education and training, while also developing your own confidence, experience and skills.

Since they began in 2018, members of the network have been involved in interview panels for newly-qualified social workers and social work apprentices, shared their lived experience at workshops and conferences, and have become involved in the strategic development of the work of the Experts by Experience network.

As an Expert by Experience you’ll be offered training, support and the option to meet with other people in the Experts by Experience network every 6-8 weeks. The network really values your contact with social care services which will be used to influence decisions around their future work.

Recovery Partners are especially interested in increasing the diversity of the network membership by involving more men and people from black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds, and LGBT+ communities.
