Living Well survey closes as plans to forge adult social care strategy begins

Together with its residents and partners, East Sussex County Council is developing a long-term plan, its strategy, for adult social care.

To understand what really matters to local people, the adult social care team conducted surveys for those people who receive support through East Sussex County Council and other residents who need care and support.

The latest survey, titled ‘Living Well in East Sussex’, closed on 18 September. Thanks to everyone who took the time to share and fill in the surveys.

The surveys are the starting point for creating a strategy that will set the direction of adult social care for everyone who has – or will have – care and support needs within the county, the projects and services that support them and their carers and families.

Analysis of survey results has just begun. Detailed work is taking place to identify themes and discussion points to take forward within focus groups and via one-to-one interviews.

Talking with East Sussex adult social care commissioning staff, independent sector care providers, NHS colleagues and wider stakeholders will follow, informed by what local people have said about their priorities.
