Residents will be asked for their views on a raft of improvements to Uckfield town centre at an exhibition due to be held on Friday 15 March and Saturday 16 March.
Providing more parking spaces, improving facilities for bus passengers, widening town centre pavements and improving street lighting are among the measures planned for the town following a consultation last year.
Detailed designs will be on display at the Weald Hall, Uckfield Civic Centre, Civic Approach, on Friday March 15 from 12pm to 7pm and Saturday March 16 from 10am to 3pm.
East Sussex County Council and Wealden District Council have been working with Uckfield Town Centre Steering Group to produce plans based on the issues residents have highlighted.
Cllr Carl Maynard, Lead Member for Transport and Environment, said: “Designs for improvements have been produced based on the feedback we received from members of the public and businesses. This is the first phase of improvement work and will go some way to addressing the issues that have been raised.
“We would encourage residents to come along to the exhibition and tell us what they think.”
