£1m boost for skills projects across Hastings and Rother

A RANGE of projects designed to support training and boost employability across Hastings and Rother will share Government funding worth £1 million.

East Sussex County Council will distribute the Skills Capital Fund between a total of 11 projects that will help enhance the local skills and training offer in line with the priorities of Skills East Sussex, the local multi-agency strategic skills board. Continue reading

Landowner fined for second planning notice failure

A LANDOWNER suspected of the unauthorised disposal of waste on his farm has been fined after failing to respond to a planning notice for the second time.

In July Ian Hobden, 67, of Giffords Farm, Battle Road, Dallington, pleaded guilty for failing to respond to a Planning Contravention Notice when he appeared at Hastings Magistrates’ Court. Continue reading

Cabinet warned more government help needed to avoid further cuts

A FUNDING gap of almost £13 million continues to confront East Sussex County Council following limited help in the national budget, cabinet members are being warned.
