Amazing volunteers honoured at Chairman’s tea party
The amazing work of an army of volunteers across East Sussex was celebrated by the county council Chairman.
A total of 65 representatives from caring groups, community associations, village clean up teams and many more groups joined Cllr Roy Galley for a thank you tea party at Herstmonceux Village Hall.
Those invited included many visited by the Chairman during his programme of community and civic visits, while others were nominated by their local councillors.
Cllr Galley said: “We have a tremendous amount of excellent and purposeful community and voluntary activity across East Sussex. The point of the tea party was to thank some of those volunteers for their contribution to Sussex society. Without their generosity and hard work, our lives would be poorer.”
