A dog sitting service, tree surgeons and heating engineers are the latest businesses from the East Sussex to sign up to a scheme that boosts consumer confidence.
At a recent ceremony, a total of 19 traders and companies were welcomed to East Sussex County Council Trading Standards’ Buy With Confidence Scheme, with a further 19 approved for the Support With Confidence scheme.
“These schemes are extremely helpful in a time of austerity,” said Councillor Rupert Simmons, lead member for economy. “Customers need to have the confidence if they are going to spend their money that it is in safe hands.
“The Buy With Confidence and Support With Confidence schemes are about more than putting a logo on the side of a van or on company stationery, these individuals and companies are very well audited by Trading Standards.”
Since their launch, more than 500 businesses and service providers have signed up to the Buy With Confidence and Support With Confidence schemes, run by East Sussex County Council’s Trading Standards.
Cllr Simmons added: “It’s great to see so many local companies and service providers signing up to the scheme and I am extremely grateful to the Chairman, Cllr Colin Belsey, for graciously presenting the certificates at the ceremony last week.”
People looking for anything from a plumber to someone to walk their dog can find approved businesses using Buy With Confidence, while Support With Confidence can point people in the direction of approved care and support providers and Personal Assistants.
