PEOPLE planning their wedding in East Sussex can benefit from a new website aimed at helping them plan their special day.
The Ceremonies in East Sussex website, launched by East Sussex Registration, brings together in one place a wealth of information about weddings and other ceremonies.
It includes details of more than 100 licensed wedding venues available in the county, along with a directory of suppliers providing services such as hair and beauty, transport and cake-making.
The site can also be used by people looking for a venue for ceremonies such as renewal of vows, civil partnerships, citizenship and baby-naming.
Steve Quayle, East Sussex County Council team manager for registration, said: “A wedding is one of the biggest days of anyone’s life but planning the event can feel like a daunting task.
“This new website does a fantastic job of bringing together all the information people need to choose a venue, book their ceremony and make their big day really special and individual to them.
“We’re blessed in East Sussex with some really stunning licensed venues, from register offices to castles, country houses, luxury hotels and outdoor venues.
“I’d encourage anyone planning a wedding or other ceremony to take advantage of the new website and allow us to help you plan your big day.”
The website includes details of the booking procedure, legal requirements and fees for ceremonies as well as a list of frequently asked questions.
It also includes a registrar’s blog featuring real-life ceremonies and advice on how people can enhance and personalise their ceremony.
People can search for their ideal venue by location, type of venue, facilities or capacity or by using map view to find venues in their preferred area.
