A SERIES of overnight road closures will be in place in Eastbourne in July while safety improvement work is carried out on four major roundabouts.

From Monday, July 4 for four nights, Lottbridge Drove Roundabout will be closed to traffic while road surface work is carried out.  On Friday, July 8, Seaside Roundabout will be closed while work is carried out.

Improvement work on Shinewater Roundabout will close the roundabout for three nights from Monday, July 11, while Langney Roundabout will be closed overnight on Friday, July 15 for repair work.

All closures will be in place between 8pm and 6am and signposted diversions will be in place.

A spokesperson for East Sussex Highways said: “These are four very well used roundabouts on a busy route through Eastbourne which are in need of some surface repairs.

“We appreciate closing these roundabouts will cause disruption to residents and motorists, but we hope to keep this to a minimum by carrying out the works overnight.  We would like to thank the public for their patience.”
