People who are interested in volunteering are invited to talk to an expert at a series of drop-in sessions at Eastbourne Library.
Visitors to the library will be able to meet a ‘Volunteering Champion’ who will be able to answer any questions about volunteering and to help potential volunteers find the right role for them.
The new service is being offered on a monthly basis by Volunteer Centre East Sussex, which puts people interested in volunteering in touch with organisations which might need their services.
Cllr Chris Dowling, East Sussex County Council lead member for community services, said: “Volunteering is a great way for people to give back to their community, make friends and learn new skills.
“These drop-in sessions will make it easier for people to find out more about how volunteering can fit into their lives with an informal chat in a central community venue.”
The Volunteering Champion will be available at the library, in Grove Road, on Tuesday 22 October 2013, Tuesday 19 November 2013 and Tuesday 17 December 2013, from 10am to noon on each day.
