East Sussex County Council is again supporting a national event highlighting the contribution of those who serve in Her Majesty’s Armed Forces.
Armed Forces Day is being held on Saturday 29 June 2013 and the county council is flying the Armed Forces Flag at County Hall in Lewes for the week leading up to the event.
The flag was raised on Monday 24 June 2013 by county council chairman Colin Belsey and Assistant Chief Executive Simon Hughes.
Councillor Colin Belsey said: “Armed Forces Day is the perfect opportunity to raise awareness of the contribution made by those who serve and have served in the Armed Forces and publicly acknowledge them for their efforts.
“East Sussex County Council is again showing its support for Armed Forces Day and giving a special thank you to the troops, service families, veterans and cadets from East Sussex.”
