Creative project benefits care home residents

CARE HOME residents have been expressing their creativity taking part in projects to tackle the stress caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

As part of Everyday Creativity in Care (ECC) , a project encouraging people to use creative pursuits to express their feelings and connect with others, dementia-friendly art boxes were delivered to nine care homes while residents at two others took part in singing sessions. Continue reading

Keep following the rules as complaints to Trading Standards continue to rise

Residents across the county are being urged to continue to follow the rules after East Sussex Trading Standards received nearly 1,000 complaints during the last year about individuals or businesses not following the regulations.

Since Covid-19 restrictions came into force in March 2020, members of the public have reported businesses such as gyms and hairdressers continuing to trade during tier restrictions and the national lockdowns.

Information and support available for residents who have now been advised to shield

INFORMATION and support is available for residents in East Sussex who have recently been advised to shield because they have now been identified as clinically extremely vulnerable (CEV) to coronavirus.

Residents who have been added to the CEV group recently will receive a letter or an email from the government explaining what this means.  East Sussex County Council will also be getting in touch with these residents via text message, email or letter to let them know about the information and support on offer locally.
