East Sussex County Council backs HIV campaign

cynthia lyons 2A CAMPAIGN to boost HIV testing levels and prevent the rise in HIV infection rates is being backed by East Sussex County Council.

‘It Starts With Me’ is a two year national campaign which aims to raise awareness of HIV infection and encourage regular testing. National HIV Testing Week, which runs from Friday November 22 until Friday November 29, is one element of this campaign. Continue reading

Campaign targets quarter of adults who drink too much

cynthia lyons 2‘LET’S talk about drinking’ – that’s the message from health chiefs ahead of an initiative aimed at raising awareness of the dangers of alcohol misuse.

Almost a quarter of adults in East Sussex drink at a level which could be harmful to their health, but many don’t realise they’re increasing their risk of illnesses such as cancer, high blood pressure, heart disease, liver damage and strokes. Continue reading
