THE PROJECT to replace the single lane crossing at Exceat with a new two-lane bridge has been given a cash injection of nearly £8 million.
East Sussex County Council has been awarded £7,957,517 from the Government’s Levelling Up Fund for a new two-lane bridge, with improved pavements and safer crossing points for pedestrians.
A SCHEME could be implemented to reduce the length of time roadworks take on the busiest roads in the county.
At its meeting on Thursday, September 30, Cabinet approved plans to develop an East Sussex Lane Rental scheme, subject to approval from the Secretary of State for Transport.
Under the Department of Transport backed initiative, companies will be charged up to £2,500 per day for carrying out roadworks.
OVERNIGHT closures will be in place on an Eastbourne road while resurfacing work takes place this month.
For two weeks from Monday, September 20, both northbound lanes of Lottbridge Drove from A259 Seaside to Cross Levels Way, will be closed between 8pm and 6am. Continue reading
AN INVESTIGATION into the cause of flooding in Heathfield following heavy rain last month has been launched.
