Chairman’s praise for charity supporting young carers

EAST Sussex County Council’s Chairman has praised a charity supporting young carers after attending an activity day.

Cllr Roy Galley joined social action charity IMAGO and young carers as they took time out at Bowles Outdoor Centre in Crowborough.

“Astonishingly, Imago currently has 1,300 young carers registered with its service in East Sussex, who provide care for a family member.” Cllr Galley said. “I was amazed to see how young some of the carers attending the activity day were and I salute their enterprise and resilience.”

“IMAGO’s young carers support service does a fantastic job in ensuring these young people get respite and time to have fun with others, and I can’t thank them enough.  I’d also like to extend my thanks to the staff at Bowles who make a major contribution to our community.”
