Planning approval paves way for next phase of town scheme
WORK on the next phase of a scheme to improve Eastbourne town centre is due to begin before the autumn following planning committee approval.
East Sussex County Council’s planning committee approved a number of Traffic Regulation Orders (TROs) – the legal orders necessary to carry out phase 2a of the ambitious scheme designed to boost the vitality of the town centre and enhance accessibility for pedestrians and wheelchair and mobility aid users.

COUNCIL leaders have praised the efforts of young people across East Sussex as they receive their A Level, Technical and Vocational qualifications today.

MORE than 900 people took the opportunity to explore local job and training opportunities at two successful apprenticeship roadshows this summer.

Measles death sparks call for vaccinations
HEALTH bosses in East Sussex are urging parents and carers to check that their children are up to date with vaccinations against measles amid a surge of cases across the country.
Figures from the UK Health Security Agency show more than 520 confirmed cases of measles in England since the beginning of the year, including one which claimed the life of child in Liverpool. Continue reading
