Congratulations to East Sussex students as A Level exam results announced

escc logoCOUNCIL leaders have praised the efforts of young people across East Sussex as they receive their A Level, Technical and Vocational qualifications today.

Cllr Bob Standley, lead member for education and inclusion, special educational needs and disability at East Sussex County Council, said: “On behalf of the County Council, I would like to congratulate East Sussex’s post-16 students on their hard work and determination. Our young people were well prepared for their examinations, and this is reflected in the results that they have received today.

All change – new bus fares for 2025

escc logoBUS FARES across East Sussex will continue to be lower in the new year thanks to funding from East Sussex’s Bus Service Improvement Plan (BSIP).

A £3 national bus fare cap was introduced on January 1, meaning the maximum fare for a single bus trip is limited to £3.

Resident to pay almost £8,000 for ‘scrap yard’ breach

A HAILSHAM man who allowed scrap metal and other waste to be dumped on his property has been ordered to pay almost £8,000.

Multiply your skills with free maths courses for adults

escc logoFREE maths courses are available to adults in East Sussex to help build numeracy skills.

People aged 19 and over without a GCSE at grade C (or equivalent) in maths or who need to improve their maths skills are being reminded that innovative courses are available across the county until March 2025 to upskill maths knowledge.
