Burn ‘clean’ and improve air quality, residents urged

Wood burningRESIDENTS who burn wood or other solid fuels to heat their homes will be encouraged to cut down their use or switch to less polluting alternatives under a project running across Sussex.

Public could be asked for views on parking charge changes

THE public could have their say on plans to raise parking charges across the county – the first significant increase in more than a decade.

On Monday, June 17, Cllr Nick Bennett, East Sussex County Council’s deputy leader, will be asked to approve a public consultation on changes to the cost of parking permits and pay and display fees. Continue reading

Newhaven community schemes completed

South Heighton: Cllr Claire Dowling with local children and members of South Heighton Parish CouncilRESIDENTS and community groups in and around Newhaven are celebrating the completion of schemes delivered through a £400,000 cash boost from the town’s energy plant.

All eight projects which were allocated East Sussex County Council funding as a result of the Newhaven Energy Recovery Facility development have now been completed. Continue reading
