Youngsters across the county are being encouraged to stand up for the planet as an annual reading challenge gets underway next month.
East Sussex libraries are calling on children aged four to 12 to read six books over the summer months as part of The Reading Agency’s Wild World Heroes, Summer Reading Challenge 2021.
NIGHT-TIME road closures will be in place on Little London Road, Heathfield for four weeks to allow for drainage work.
Work will start on Monday, July 12 and continue until Friday, August 6.
This essential work is required to clean and carry out repairs to the drainage pipes and road gullies, as well as construct new access chambers, to enable future maintenance to help reduce flooding between the A265 junction and The Firs Surgery.
OPENING hours at libraries across the county returned to normal this month.
From Tuesday, June 1 pre-lockdown opening hours resumed at all East Sussex libraries giving residents more opportunity to browse, read and borrow books, use the computers or free wifi, and access study spaces.
LIBRARIES across the county welcomed back visitors this month as they reopened their doors following the latest easing of lockdown restrictions.
Residents can once again browse the shelves and select books as well as return and reserve items. Computers are available to pre-book, and study space and Job Pods for online job interviews are available at selected libraries.
