MOTORISTS in East Sussex are being urged to be ‘deer aware’ in the coming months to avoid colliding with the animals on rural roads.
Every year there are an estimated 74,000 deer-related traffic collisions in the UK, with the risk of encountering the animals on the road increasing during the mating season in October and November.
AN EIGHT-WEEK project to waterproof and resurface Kingsley Viaduct in Lewes will begin next month.
The roadworks will start on Monday, October 17 and continue until Friday, December 9.
NIGHT-TIME road closures will be in place on Devonshire Place in Eastbourne for two weeks to allow for resurfacing work.
Work will start on Monday, September 12 and continue until Friday, September 23.
