Chairman visits inspiring charity

EAST Sussex County Council’s Chairman paid a visit to an inspiring charity dedicated to helping young people and adults with learning disabilities and autism access paid employment.

Four-week overnight closure on the way for A22

MOTORISTS in East Sussex are being made aware of a four-week overnight roadworks scheme which will affect a major route through the county.

The A22 Eastbourne Road in Halland, near Uckfield, will be closed overnight for four weeks from Monday, March 4 2019 for major repairs to dig up and relay the road.

Work starts on Polegate traffic light replacement

Damage to traffic lights controller in Polegate

WORK begins this week on repairs to traffic light systems at a busy junction in Polegate.

The traffic light controller, which controls the phasing of the lights, was seriously damaged after it was hit by a vehicle on Tuesday, January 15.

Half-term date for Polegate roadworks

MOTORISTS and residents in Polegate are being advised of a forthcoming week-long road closure to allow essential work to take place.

Farmlands Way will close between Wannock Road and Broad Road from Saturday, February 16 2019 to Sunday, February 24 2019 to allow East Sussex Highways to rebuild a section of the road.

New parking machines offer more ways to pay

MOTORISTS in Lewes have more ways to pay for their on-street parking as new technology is installed across the town.

East Sussex County Council is nearing the end of a scheme to replace all 87 parking machines in Lewes with new, state-of-the-art equipment which accepts credit and debit card payments.
