Record road improvement programme planned

A RECORD number of East Sussex roads will be given a new lease of life with this year’s programme of pothole-preventing work.

£1.2 million funding boost for kids’ health

SCHOOLS in East Sussex will receive extra funding to develop an ambitious scheme aimed at improving children’s physical and mental health.

New recruits to the Support With Confidence scheme were welcomed at an event at The View Hotel, in EastbourneA SCHEME which helps vulnerable people to live independently in their own homes is appealing for new recruits.

Support With Confidence, run by East Sussex County Council, enables people to choose a personal assistant or other care provider who’s been vetted and approved for quality, safety and training. Continue reading →

New steps allow access to ‘hidden gem’ beach

New steps at Cow Gap, near Beachy HeadACCESS to the beach at the foot of an East Sussex beauty spot has been restored after fire-hit steps were replaced.

The wooden steps at Cow Gap, near Beachy Head, were destroyed in a suspected arson attack in December 2016, cutting off access to beaches at the foot of the famous cliffs. Continue reading →

Plans to improve road safety in the spotlight

Cllr Nick BennettPEOPLE in Heathfield are being asked for their views on plans for a traffic calming scheme aimed at cutting vehicle speed and improving safety.
