Free slippers giveaway at fall prevention events

RESIDENTS in East Sussex can pick up a free pair of non-slip slippers at events to mark Falls Prevention Awareness Week, which runs between September 15 and 19.

Public Health bosses at East Sussex County Council are running four public events to share advice on how older people can improve their balance with regular exercises, and hand out the free footwear to those attending. Continue reading →

Cash boost will bring new jobs to East Sussex

Funding boost for walking and cycling schemes

Cllr Carl MaynardPEOPLE in East Sussex will be helped to walk and cycle more – thanks to a £1.2 million Government funding boost.

Plaque marks council’s stance against domestic abuse

Cllr Keith Glazier, East Sussex County Council leader, and Becky Shaw, county council chief executive, unveil the White Ribbon plaque at County HallA PLAQUE has been unveiled marking a council’s commitment to tackling domestic and sexual violence and abuse.

East Sussex County Council has been reaccredited as a White Ribbon authority, two years after it became only the second county council in the country to receive the designation in 2014. Continue reading →

Amended budget backed by Cabinet

Cllr David ElkinMORE money will be spent on maintaining pavements and roads and supporting young people under an amended budget proposed by council leaders.
