PARENTS of children returning to school in Uckfield after the half-term holidays are being asked to allow extra time for their journeys.

Traffic management for stage two of the Uckfield town centre highway improvement scheme comes into operation on Sunday, February 21 with work beginning on Monday, February 22 2016.

A one-way route will be in place southbound in High Street, with northbound traffic diverted via Bell Lane and the A22 bypass.

Changes to bus routes in the affected area are also in place with a replacement shuttle bus running northbound from Uckfield bus station.
