History will inspire at archive centre open day

The world-class centre which holds archives from East Sussex Record Office, the Royal Pavilion & Museums, Brighton & Hove Local History Collections and the University of Sussex Special Collections, some dating back more than 900 years, is hosting a free open day for families and people of all ages on Saturday, November 22. Enthusiasts help unearth history along the Link Road

archaeology web2ARCHAEOLOGY enthusiasts working along the route of a new road have helped unearth what is thought to be one of the most significant finds of prehistoric remains in the country.

Working alongside Oxford Archaeology, members of the Hastings Area Archaeological Research Group (HAARG) have been involved in the excavation of Mesolithic flint scatters from the Bexhill to Hastings Link Road site. Continue reading
