Have your say on options for waste service savings

MEMBERS of the public are being asked for their views on options that will help the county’s waste service save more than £500,000 in 2018/19.

Reductions in Government funding, and rising demand for services means East Sussex County Council has to cut £17 million from its 2018/19 budget. The waste service annual budget will be reduced by £720,000, of which savings of £558,000 will need to be made in 2018/19. Continue reading

Government cash boost ‘great news for East Sussex’

Cllr Rupert SimmonsA £16.7 million funding boost to support the building of more than 1,000 new homes in East Sussex has been hailed by council chiefs.

The cash for projects in Battle, Eastbourne, Hastings and Lewes, was announced in the first wave of funding for ‘marginal viability proposals’ from the Government’s £2.3 billion Housing Infrastructure Fund. Continue reading
