Hastings residents urged to book a test for any virus concern

HASTINGS residents are being urged to book a Covid test if they suspect they may have been exposed to the Covid-19 virus, as infection rates rise in the borough.

Concern about the rise in cases and high transmission rates has prompted public health advice that anyone who thinks they may have been in close contact with someone infectious should get a PCR test, even if they feel fine.

Wildflowers bloom alongside East Sussex roads

Roadsides across the county are bursting with colour following an increase in the number of designated wildlife verges.

36 new wildlife verges have been declared by East Sussex Highways over the last year, protecting a further 37 miles of natural habitat and providing a haven for wildflowers and wildlife.

County-wide there are 176 designated wildlife verges, totalling more than 125 miles – the approximate distance from Lewes to Cambridge.

Views sought on improvements to major road route

THE PUBLIC, businesses and organisations are being asked to give their view on a raft of measures aimed at improving a major road in East Sussex.

Proposals have been developed for nine junctions along the A22 and A2290 between Hailsham and Eastbourne to improve the safety of pedestrians and cyclists, reduce traffic and journey times, as well as tackling congestion issues.
