Six-week road closure near Wadhurst
A RURAL road in East Sussex will be closed in the daytime for six weeks for improvement work.

New checks on the way for free bus passes
HOLDERS of concessionary bus passes in East Sussex are being warned invalid or out-of-date passes will no longer be accepted from this spring.
From April 2020, bus drivers won’t accept passes which have been cancelled, reported lost or stolen, replaced with a newer pass or which don’t work because they’re damaged. Continue reading
Budget plans could include £6.5 million of investment
COUNCIL leaders will be asked to agree extra spending worth £6.5 million when they discuss the latest budget plans next week.
Although proposals will include £3.5 million of savings, East Sussex County Council’s Cabinet will be asked to consider additional investment in roads and services for vulnerable adults and children as part of its £403 million spending on services for 2020/21. Continue reading
Main road reopens after ‘dramatic’ collapse
A ROAD in East Sussex near the Kent border which collapsed before Christmas has been fully reopened after major reconstruction work.
The A26 at Spart’s Brook, between Eridge and Tunbridge Wells, was closed when a highway drain was washed away under the volume of rain, causing the road to collapse on December 22 2019. Continue reading
