Six-week road closure near Wadhurst

A RURAL road in East Sussex will be closed in the daytime for six weeks for improvement work.

Carriageway patching will be carried out on Tidebrook Road, between Mayfield and Wadhurst, between Pennybridge Lane and Riseden Road, from Monday, February 10 to Friday, March 20 2020.

The road will be closed from the junction with the B2100 Beech Hill and Mayfield Lane to where it becomes Coggins Mill Lane and joins Fletching Street and East Street, from 7am to 7pm each day.

Crews will be patching sections of the road that are in particular need of repair. They will also return in April to patch a section of the road south of Tidebrook, pending structural repairs to a retaining wall.

A signed diversion route will be in place via the B2100, A267, Tunbridge Wells Road and Fletching Street.

The road is being closed to ensure the safety of highways workers and the public. Access will be provided to local residents where possible but there may be some delays.

Details of all forthcoming roadworks are available on the East Sussex Highways website at www.eastsussexhighways.com
