Major investment agreed to boost school improvement
ADDITIONAL investment will help boost an improvement programme for schools across the county.
In a bid to address concerns raised during a recent Ofsted Inspection, a budget of £800,000 has been identified to accelerate East Sussex County Council’s Excellence for All strategy which aims to ensure all children are taught in a school rated good or outstanding by Ofsted and reach their full potential. Plans for a more efficient mobile library service are given the go ahead
CHANGES to mobile library services which will help save the taxpayer more than £130,000 a year have been approved by East Sussex County Council.
A total of 90 stops made by the mobile library will remain unaffected, while 16 stops will be combined. Visits to 21 care home and sheltered housing settings will be replaced by existing alternative service. Watch our video with Councillor Chris Dowling, lead member for community services.

Uckfield ‘open for business’ during improvement scheme
A MAJOR improvement scheme for Uckfield will be timed to minimise disruption to local businesses, the group behind the project has said.
