Call times slashed by award-winning highways team

East Sussex Highways contact centreA CUSTOMER service team has clinched a national award for a pioneering approach allowing problems with East Sussex roads to be dealt with more quickly and efficiently.

Diplocks Way, Hailsham water main upgrade postponed

South East Water work on a water mains replacement scheme has been stopped by East Sussex County Council after concerns were raised about traffic management and road safety.

Ex-drug addict conman must pay back £15k scam cash

A FORMER cocaine addict with a £400-a-day habit who conned pensioners in a roofing scam has been ordered to pay back a large chunk of his ill-gotten gains.

William Jones was jailed for 16 months in December following a prosecution by East Sussex County Council after he tricked elderly residents into handing over cash for unnecessary, overpriced and sub-standard roofing work. Continue reading
