A MAIN road through Crowborough will be subject to overnight closures for resurfacing work.
The work on the A26 Beacon Road begins on Wednesday, August 17 2016, with the road closed between 9pm and 6am for 12 nights, not including weekends.
The road is being resurfaced between New Road and Sheep Plain and will be closed to through traffic between New Road and the Crowborough Cross junction.
A signed diversion route will be in place via New Road, the B2026, B2188, Mardens Hill and St John’s Road in both directions.
An East Sussex Highways spokesman said: “The surface on this section of the A26 is in need of repair and resurfacing the road will create a smoother, safer road for many years to come.
“We appreciate this is a very busy road and carrying out the roadworks overnight will enable us to minimise the impact on motorists. We’d ask people to bear with us while the works are completed.”
