Battle Library reopens after major revamp
Battle Library in East Sussex has reopened to the public after a total refurbishment.
The nine week modernisation scheme has seen the library in Market Square completely redecorated and fitted with new carpets, lighting, furniture and shelving, as well as self-service facilities, a new display area and space for community events. £2million earmarked to solve congestion at Exceat
COUNCIL leaders have agreed to use a Government grant of more than £2million to address one of the worst congestion hotspots in the county.
Members of East Sussex County Council’s cabinet agreed plans to use a government grant to build a new two-lane bridge to replace the current one-lane Exceat Bridge over the Cuckmere river. Continue reading
Cabinet agrees strategy to safeguard countryside sites
CONSERVATION experts will be sought to take charge of sites around East Sussex in a bid to protect them for future generations.
The county council’s cabinet agreed a strategy which sets out how the authority will manage 2,000 miles of footpaths, bridleways and byways and 10 countryside sites in the future. Continue reading
