New strategy to help children reach their potential

children sitting round a table laughing and talking to a womanA NEW Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) strategy to enable young people to reach their full potential in every area of life has been launched.

The SEND Strategy 2022-2025 will be used to inform the work of everyone working with children and young people with SEND across East Sussex, giving them the opportunities and support they need to achieve their ambitions and prepare for adult life.

£8 million boost for arts and heritage organisations

Cllr Rupert SimmonsCOUNCIL and cultural leaders have welcomed news that a number of organisations in East Sussex are set to benefit from more than £8 million of investment.

Arts Council England announced its 2023 to 2025 investment commitments which include eight organisations in the county which will between them receive a total of £8.3 million, a 25 per cent increase for the county since the last spending round. Continue reading

Event showcases approaches to ageing well

Interreg 2 Seas and Rother Voluntary Action logosALMOST 100 delegates signed up for the Innovations in Healthy Ageing conference at the De La Warr Pavilion in Bexhill last month.

The event, which took place on Wednesday, October 19, brought together learning and new developments from the Healthy Ageing through Innovation in Rural Europe (HAIRE) Project to promote local approaches to ageing well.
