Free slippers giveaway at fall prevention events

RESIDENTS in East Sussex can pick up a free pair of non-slip slippers at events to mark Falls Prevention Awareness Week, which runs between September 15 and 19.

Public Health bosses at East Sussex County Council are running four public events to share advice on how older people can improve their balance with regular exercises, and hand out the free footwear to those attending. Continue reading

Gritters geared up in East Sussex

Gritters parked up GRITTERS will be running their routes across the county next week to ensure they are geared up for the cold winter months.

On Friday, September 19, 21 gritters will be travelling along the most heavily used roads as part of the annual Operation Snowdrop, when East Sussex Highways fine-tunes its response to wintry weather.
