GRITTERS running on low emission biodiesel will be working to keep East Sussex moving this winter.
All the bright yellow trucks in the East Sussex Highways’ gritting fleet are now ‘green’, running on HVO (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil) fuel, and preparations are underway to ensure the 21 environmentally friendly gritters are ready when snow is forecast, or the road surface temperature falls near to or below freezing. A NEW Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) strategy to enable young people to reach their full potential in every area of life has been launched.
The SEND Strategy 2022-2025 will be used to inform the work of everyone working with children and young people with SEND across East Sussex, giving them the opportunities and support they need to achieve their ambitions and prepare for adult life.

ALMOST 100 delegates signed up for the Innovations in Healthy Ageing conference at the De La Warr Pavilion in Bexhill last month.
The event, which took place on Wednesday, October 19, brought together learning and new developments from the Healthy Ageing through Innovation in Rural Europe (HAIRE) Project to promote local approaches to ageing well.
