Authors drum up support for children’s book award

AUTHORS vying for a coveted title will be visiting schools across the county in a bid to win all important votes.

The East Sussex Children’s Book Award, organised by East Sussex County Council’s Schools Library and Museum Service, will be decided by children from 49 schools across East Sussex and Brighton and Hove and the winner will be announced in the summer. Continue reading

Plans to merge Crowborough schools move forward

Cllr Nick BennettPARENTS and carers, staff and the local community are to be asked for their views on plans to merge two schools in Crowborough and create an all-through primary school.

At a lead member on Monday, Cllr Nick Bennett, Lead member for schools and learning effectiveness, gave the go ahead for the consultation to bring together Whitehill Infant School and Herne Junior School from September 1, 2015. Continue reading
