Deadly tree disease prompts road closures
MOTORISTS are being warned to expect delays as a major coastal route between Eastbourne and Seaford is closed for emergency work to fell diseased roadside trees.
The A259 Friston Hill will be fully closed on Sunday, March 15 2020 and Sunday, March 22 2020 from 7am to 7pm, while one lane will be closed from Monday, March 16 to Friday, March 20 2020 from 7am to 6.30pm with temporary traffic lights in place. Continue reading
Community order for director who withheld deposits
THE DIRECTOR of a St Leonards-based car hire company has been ordered to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work after delays in returning deposits left customers out of pocket.Michael Goodwin, 41, of Main Street, Beckley, pleaded guilty to breaching the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008 and was sentenced to a high level 12-month community order when he appeared at Lewes Crown Court.

Westminster event recognises youth democracy efforts
