Bridging the gap to help East Sussex walkers

Countryside ranger Jack Cronin works on repairing a footbridge near MayfieldWALKERS will find it easier to enjoy the East Sussex countryside thanks to the winter work of the county council’s rangers.

A total of 35 wooden footbridges have been replaced and 31 repaired since November along the county’s 2,000 miles of rights of way – as the region endured one of the wettest winters on record. Continue reading →

‘Vital’ improvements to county roads move a step closer

Revamped accommodation helps people live independently

Representatives from East Sussex County Council, CCGs, Community Integrated Care and Inclusion Housing gathered to mark the opening of Greenacres, a supported living service in South ChaileyA SUPPORTED living service which helps people with learning disabilities or autism live independently in the community has opened after a major refurbishment.

Greenacres, in Mill Lane, South Chailey, now provides six self-contained one-bedroom flats with gardens for long-term tenants and two units for short stays. Continue reading →
