Gritters geared up in East Sussex

Gritters parked up GRITTERS will be running their routes across the county next week to ensure they are geared up for the cold winter months.

On Friday, September 19, 21 gritters will be travelling along the most heavily used roads as part of the annual Operation Snowdrop, when East Sussex Highways fine-tunes its response to wintry weather.

Sign up for free childcare, parents urged

Cllr Sylvia TidyWORKING parents wanting to take advantage of the new 30 hours free childcare offer are being urged to sign up before the start of the summer term.

Kids team up with animal agents for reading challenge

Some of the animal agent characters featuring in this year's Summer Reading ChallengeCHILDREN in East Sussex are being enlisted to help a team of ‘animal agents’ as this year’s Summer Reading Challenge gets underway.

Grass cutting underway along cycle routes

Grass cutting has been completed alongside the Ringmer Cycleway, between Lewes and RingmerCYCLISTS in East Sussex will enjoy a clearer ride following a programme of grass cutting along county cycle routes.

East Sussex Highways staff have been busy clearing vegetation along the Ringmer Cycleway, between Lewes and Ringmer, with similar work to follow on three other routes in the week beginning July 24. Continue reading →
