Campaign to help smokers in Hastings find happiness

AN AWARENESS campaign designed to dispel a common myth that smoking is a way to relieve stress is hitting Hastings in the new year.

Representatives of South East Smokefree Alliance (SESA) will be at Priory Meadow Shopping Centre on Tuesday, January 6, to talk to shoppers about wellbeing, and the link between quitting smoking and feeling better. Continue reading →

Eastbourne Library remains closed after water leak

eastbourne-libraryLIBRARY customers in Eastbourne are being advised to use alternative facilities after a leak from a drainage pipe closed the town’s main library.

Efforts are being made to reopen the library as soon as possible, but the East Sussex County Council facility will remain closed until next week. Continue reading →

Schools’ funding boost to fight childhood obesity

Cynthia Lyons, East Sussex acting director of public healthSCHOOLS in East Sussex will benefit from almost £2 million funding to tackle the ‘ticking time-bomb’ of childhood obesity.
