Devolution and mayoral election plans move forward

LEADERS have welcomed approval of their plans to collaborate in a single strategic authority for Sussex with a directly elected mayor.

The government has agreed to move forward with a Mayoral Combined County Authority (MCCA) and confirmed the first mayoral election will take place in May 2026.

Thousands take advantage of their free mid-life MOT

NHS HealthCheckTHOUSANDS of East Sussex residents have taken advantage of potentially life-saving health checks, according to latest figures.

Council plea to track down tree thieves

T&E-Highways-NS-041COUNCIL chiefs are urging residents to be vigilant after more than a hundred trees were ripped from the ground along the Lewes to Ringmer cycleway.
