Devolution and mayoral election plans move forward

LEADERS have welcomed approval of their plans to collaborate in a single strategic authority for Sussex with a directly elected mayor.

The government has agreed to move forward with a Mayoral Combined County Authority (MCCA) and confirmed the first mayoral election will take place in May 2026.

Coastal route reopens in time for Easter

The previously closed section of the Bulverhythe Coastal Route has reopened in time for Easter 2014A SECTION of coastal path damaged by severe winter weather has reopened – in time for the Easter bank holiday weekend.

Part of the Bulverhythe Coastal Link between Hastings and Bexhill was left damaged by a severe storm in October and forced to close after being battered by three subsequent storms. Continue reading →
