Consultation on future of local government launches

RESIDENTS are being invited to take part in a consultation that will help reshape local government and how services are run in the future.

Government wants to reorganise local government so that everyone in East Sussex gets their services from just one council. This could mean the county council and district and borough councils would be replaced by a single authority. Continue reading →

Overnight road closures in Eastbourne

East Sussex Highways logoNIGHT-TIME road closures will be in place on Devonshire Place in Eastbourne for two weeks to allow for resurfacing work.

Work will start on Monday, September 12 and continue until Friday, September 23.

Overnight closures for Seaford road repairs

East Sussex Highways logoESSENTIAL road repairs will begin on the A259 Claremont Road and Station Approach, Seaford next month.

Night-time carriageway patching repairs will start on Monday, September 12 and continue until Tuesday, September 20.

Temporary bus stops will safeguard services

escc logoPLANS have been put in place for temporary bus stops around Lewes town centre after the owners of Lewes bus station served notice terminating the council’s licence for the site.

Notice was served by the owners on Wednesday, August 17 requiring all bus service operations to cease at the site by Friday, September 16.
