Highways hero braves floodwater to save Xmas parkrun
A HIGHWAYS electrician has been hailed a ‘legend’ after wading through filthy water to fix a broken pump and allow Eastbourne’s Christmas Day parkrun to go ahead.
The fun event looked certain to be cancelled after heavy rain led to a 50m stretch of footpath on the underpass in Shinewater Park being submerged in three feet of floodwater. Continue reading
