Views sought on improvements to major road route

THE PUBLIC, businesses and organisations are being asked to give their view on a raft of measures aimed at improving a major road in East Sussex.

Proposals have been developed for nine junctions along the A22 and A2290 between Hailsham and Eastbourne to improve the safety of pedestrians and cyclists, reduce traffic and journey times, as well as tackling congestion issues. New pedestrian crossing for busy Hastings road

RESIDENTS in Hastings are able to cross a busy road more safely following the completion of a new pedestrian crossing.

East Sussex Highways has installed the new signalised pedestrian crossing on The Ridge, just to the south of the junction with Chowns Hill, providing safer and easier access to St Helen’s church, Hastings Court care home, Hastings cemetery, and local bus stops.
